Padel

About Padel

Padel is a mix between Tennis and Squash. It is a fun, social racket sport for all abilities and ages. It’s usually played in doubles on an enclosed court a third of the size of a tennis court, surrounded by walls of glass and mash.

The rules are the same as tennis, played with similar balls, although serving is underhand and the ball can bounce off any wall but can only hit the turf once before being returned. Points can be scored when the ball does bounce twice in the competitor’s field.

The sport originated in Mexico, is huge in Spain, South America and Europe and is the fastest-growing sport in the world.
If you have played tennis or squash, you will have an advantage initially, however down the line on your journey, you may find you have bad habits that need to be fixed.

Padel is not dominated by strength, technique and serve as in Tennis, match craft and strategy are the keys to winning Padel games. This allows for mixed groups of men, women, and youth to compete together, which combines action with fun and social interaction.

The sport is often misspelt as paddle, which is wrong, in fact, paddle is a different sport completely!

Padel is a great sport for players of all ages and skills, as it is both quick and easy to pick up. Most players get the basics within the first half an hour of playing, this means that they can enjoy the game from the very beginning.
